Hematology

Due to time requirements test can only be collected at the Irving draw site for out patients. Call a STAT courier for pickup.

4 – Blue 2.7 mL (Citrate)

1 – Lavendar

1 Blue Top Tube & 1 Lavendar Tube- Ambient

3 Blue Tops – Processed and Frozen

Patient should not be on anticoagulants and have a previously documented elevated Prothrombin Time and/or APTT test.

Frozen specimens must be spun for Platelet Poor plasma and frozen within 30 minutes of draw time.

Blue Top Tubes:
- 3 Processed - Frozen 2 weeks
- 1 Unprocessed - Ambient 4 hours

Lavendar Tube
- Ambient: 24 hours
- Refrigerated: 36 hours

Blue Top: 2.0 mL

Lavender Top: 1.0 mL
