Additional Information
Male specimens: Delay collection at least 1 hour after urination.
Submit to lab ASAP. If there is no evident drainage, collect with a unmoistened, urethrogenital, alginate swab. Swab is inserted approximately 2 cm into the urethra and rotated gently before withdrawing.
