Collection Requirements

Patient Preparation: Patients should be encouraged to discontinue vitamins, nutritional supplements and non-essential over-the-counter medications. High concentrations of iodine may interfere with elemental testing. Abstinence from iodine-containing medications or contrast agents is recommended at least 1 month before sample collection.

Collect 24 hour urine, refrigerate during collection. Mix urine well and send 8.0 mL urine in an IATA-approved metal-free screw-capped plastic urine container.
