Collection Requirements
Patient must fast overnight and be restricted from alcohol and vitamins for at least 24 hours before sample collection. Collect infant samples before next feeding.

CRITICAL FROZEN. PROTECT FROM LIGHT.
Centrifuge, separate and send 1.0 mL plasma in an amber screw-capped plastic vial. Freeze within 6 hours.
If amber tubes are unavailable, cover standard transport tube completely, top and bottom, with aluminum foil and place extra label on outside.
Transport specimen in amber bag.
Specimen will be rejected if it is not wrapped in foil and exposed to light.
