Specimen source required.
Swabs (genital, dermal, vesicle, ocular, oral, nasal, throat, rectal) in viral transport medium.
Swabs in culturettes must be transferred to viral transport within 24 hours of collection.
Biopsy/tissue specimens in saline or viral transport medium (Snap frozen-20°C).
Bronchoalveolar lavage/wash in sterile IATA-approved screw-capped plastic container 1.0 mL.
CSF and body fluid undiluted in sterile IATA-approved screw-capped plastic container. 1.0 mL.
Nasal aspirated in vacuum trap. 1.0 mL.
Nasal washes in IATA-approved screw-capped plastic container. 1.0ml.
EDTA plasma (lavender top). 1.0 mL.
Bone marrow in EDTA (lavender top) 1.0 mL.
Urine undiluted in an IATA-approved screw-capped plastic container. 2.0 mL.
Stool in sterile IATA-approved screw-capped plastic container 2.0 mL for liquid stool or marble -size solid stool.
