Collection Requirements

Patient Preparation

Patient should not have general anesthetic or muscle relaxants for 24 hours prior to draw.

For optimal antibody detection it’s recommended that specimen be drawn prior to starting immunosuppressant therapy.

Due to potential interference, this test is not recommended for patients who have recently had radioactive isotopes administered diagnostically or therapeutically. Waiting period before draw will depend on isotope used, dose given and individual patient clearance. Specimens will be screened for radioactivity prior to testing, radioactive specimens will be held for 1 week and assayed if properly decayed or cancelled if radioactivity remains.
