Collection Requirements
Blood specimen and 24 hour urine specimen.
Must submit patient’s height and weight, either on 24 hour collection form or on specimen label.
Urine collections less than 24 hours must have length of collection documented on 24 hour urine collection form.
Do not add preservatives to the collection container. Keep the container on ice or refrigerated during collection.
A blood specimen should be collected during the 24hr urine collection period but is acceptable if collected within 48 hrs of urine completion.

Processing
Blood: Centrifuge and refrigerate gel tube.
Urine: Refrigerate until processed, measure total volume, aliquot, centrifuge and refrigerate.
Note total volume on the label.
