Collection Requirements

ABG’s performed by the Respiratory Therapy Department will be performed in the Center for the Heart Non-Invasive Testing area. Patients will need to check in/register at the Center for the Heart desk, from there a member of the Respiratory Therapy department will take them to the draw room and complete the lab collection.

Inpatient: Respiratory Therapist collect using 100 microliter heparinized ABG capillary tube. Outpatient: phlebtomy collect using 100 microliter heparinized ABG capillary tube.
